Gareth Davies is a Senior Advisor to the OCREUS Group. A Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) for 26 years, he was responsible for the management of the relationship of some of PwC’s largest global clients. He has worked across many industries, including 17 years in Financial Services.
Gareth led a substantial part of PwC’s audit practice between 1994 and 1999, and he led PwC’s Client Training Practice between 1993 and 1997.
From 1999 until 2012 he established relationships with and led advisory and consulting services to 12 significant non-audit clients, including Credit Suisse, Citigroup, British Airways, Microsoft, Fujitsu, Siemens, Nestle and Allied Domecq. This involved building effective relationships with country and regional Board members, NEDs and business unit CEOs, CFOs and COOs. Gareth was responsible for developing and coordinating services to these clients, and leading on the most significant engagements including several large, complex consulting, regulatory and compliance assignments.
Gareth has overseen many of these projects arising from the 2008 Financial Crisis. While many such assignments remain confidential, these remediation exercises involved multi-disciplinary teams with competencies including programme and project management, change management, stakeholder management, communications, training and L&D, HR consultants, technical experts in the valuation of complex financial instruments, actuaries, information technology and security.
Gareth is an authority on governance, risk and compliance in financial services and beyond and can bring deep personal expertise together with excellent access to a wide network of leading advisors from business schools and business leaders through close personal relationships. He has wide experience of executive coaching and mentoring and organisation development interventions.
Gareth is a qualified accountant in the UK (FCA ICAEW) and US (CPA).
